By the middle of August, one might expect that things are starting to finish up in the garden or that our harvest is coming to an end. It doesn't have to be that way! Many crops that grow in the spring will also grow in the fall if you get them in the ground at the right time and in the right way. Come and learn what to plant, when to do it, and how to do it and get your hands in the dirt with us. We will be sharing best practices and applied science as part of this in-garden hands-on workshop as we extend the growing season of both the Ample Harvest and Culinary Herb plots together at the West Milford Organic Community Garden. This session is for new and experienced gardeners who are looking to learn what to plant and the best way to get it started to have a robust fall crop of greens, lettuces, chard, carrots, peas and more. Registered participants will receive organic Fall Seeds and planting guide/chart. Be sure to bring gloves (if you want participate hands-on), or a garden chair (if you prefer to observe).
