The community gardens are officially full! We received overwhelming interest in tending a community garden plot this season. As a result, we have started planning expansion projects for the near future. 14 years after the first community garden was created, we enjoyed this year’s Opening Day on May 2nd at Apple Acres and Wallisch Homestead. Allison from Two Pond Farms and local Dawn Hailes sold organic seedlings ready to fill our plots. We celebrated the warmer weather and the start of gardening season with good friends and strong seedlings.
We practice sustainable, organic gardening at both of our community gardens. From the seeds we sow to the plants we grow, everything that goes into our plots is organic material. We produce organic, healthy fruits, flowers and vegetables while promoting a sense of community in our gardens. Community: A group of people that care about each other and feel they belong. A place where people can share their talents, passions, interests, and knowledge…and to have fun, learn, and grow together. The garden is the perfect place to experience community.
